Turkey Tour with Space Camp at Izmir

Day 1 – Istanbul Arrival – Afternoon half day sightseeing tour

Welcome to Turkey Istanbul Ataturk airport. Meet with One World Tours manager and transfer from airport to check in to your hotel (check in time is 2pm). Continue for a half day sightseeing. Visit the Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar). The air here is filled with the enticing aromas of cinnamon, caraway, saffron, mint, thyme and every other conceivable herb and spice. Bosphorus By Boat is a traditional excursion by boat along the waterway separating Europe and Asia. The shoe is lined with old wooden villas, palaces of marble, fortresses and small fishing villages. During the excursion, you will see the magnificent sights of the following attractions from your boat. See Dolmabahce Palace and further along the parks and imperial pavilions of Yildiz Palace. On the coastal edge of this park is Ciragan palace, 300 meters of its marble façade faces the shore. At Ortakoy a freat variety of artists gather every Sunday to display their work along the street. Ortakoy is a symbol of tolerance with a church, a mosque and a synagogue existing side by side for centuries. Overnight in Istanbul. (Meals: Lunch & Dinner)

Day 2 – Istanbul – Full Day Historical City Tour

Pick up at 8:30am from your hotel for a day tour of old Istanbul city. Visit to St. Sophia. This ancient basilica built by Constantine the Great in the 4th century and reconstructed by Justinian in the 6th century is one of the architectural marvels of all time. Topkapi Palace, the great palace of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries housing an exquisite collection of crystal, silver and chines porcelain, robes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury, miniatures, the Holy Mantle enshrining relics of the Prophet Mohammed. Sultanahemet Imperial Mosque across from St. Sophia was built in the 16th century by the architect Mehmet, is known as the Blue Mosque because of its magnificent interior decoration of blue iznik tiles. Hippodrome – the scene of chariot races, with the three monuments; the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine. We shall then take you to the Grand Covered Bazaar. In this labyrinth of streets and passages are more than 4,000 shops with each trade having its own area: the goldsmiths’ street, the carpet sellers, Turkish arts and crafts, such as hand painted ceramic plates, hand-honed copperware, brassware and trays, water ewers, onyx-ware and meerschaum pipes. After the tour, transfer back to your hotel. Overnight in Istanbul. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 3 – Istanbul to Izmir by flight & City Tour

After breakfast at hotel, check out from hotel and transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Izmir. After arrival proceed to Space Camp for check in. Later enjoy panoramic views of city and bay of Izmir. Then visit the city’s symbol the Ottoman Clock Tower. Free time for shopping at the center of city. Overnight in Izmir.

Day 4 – Turkey Space Camp (Meals: at camp dorm)

After breakfast, you shall explore multiple activities such as the science of growing plants without soil in our hydroponics laboratory. Build your own AS rockets and launch them. Experience the thrill of riding the simulators – height restrictions apply. Learn the feeling of how an astronaut lives in space.

Day 5 – Turkey Space Camp Graduation – fly to Cappadocia

After graduation, we check out and proceed to the airport for a flight to Cappadocia (whether direct or via Istanbul depends on flight schedule). After arrival, transfer to hotel and check in. later dinner at hotel. Overnight in Cappadocia. (Meals: Breakfast at dorm, Lunch allowance and Dinner in Cappadocia)

Day 6 – Cappadocia – full day sightseeing tour. Early morning Optional Hot Air Balloon Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, we start our tour to explore Cappadocia by visiting different valleys. The first stop is Goreme Valley, where you can find the process of the rock formations in Cappadocia. Later we drive to Uchisar to visit the cave dwellings which are surrounded by conical rock formations. Later we proceed to visit Goreme Open Air Museum, where you will find the most preserved frescoed of rock cut churches and monasteries. After lunch buffet, we visit the fairy chimneys of Urgup. We then visit the wishing hill which is riddled with caves, it’s a sightseeing spot worth to go to. Furthermore, we have a short walk in Devrent Valley where you can see so many different figures of rock formations. Then we drive to Monks Valley (Rahipler Vadisi). Local dinner at hotel. Overnight in Cappadocia. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

Day 7 – Cappadocia to Istanbul by flight & Departure

After breakfast at hotel, check out and transfer to Kayseri or Neveshir airport for your return flight to home via Istanbul connection. We hope your tour was a memorable one.


The Space Adventure is an action-packed program, popular amongmiddle school students. Program length and activities can be customised forschool groups during the school year and special holidays. OSA trains youth inthe space sciences, promotes teamwork through space simulations, and providesunderstanding of space technology.

  • Explore the science of growing plants without soil in our hydroponics laboratory.
  • Gaze at Moon`s craters where Apollo modules landed, Jupiter`s stripes, Saturn`s rings, and even double stars in the constellations through a 10-inch telescope in our rooftop observatory.
  • Observe experiments which illustrate the principles of physics and chemistry and how they apply to space exploration.
  • Learn the principles of rocketry by building and launching your own AS rockets.
  • Experience the thrill of riding two of our simulators, which give campers the feeling of living and working in space (*)

(*) Campers must be at least 4 feet (120 cm)tall and weigh no more than 210 pounds (95 kg) to ride the simulators.
